Senior Financial Crime Compliance Analyst

Join a specialist Line 2 Financial Crime Compliance team where you’ll advise on complex AML/CTF and CDD matters!

Mars Recruitment is partnering with a leading institutional banking environment is seeking a Financial Crime Compliance professional to join their Line 2 CDD Advisory function. This is a high-impact role supporting AML/CTF compliance, customer due diligence governance, and financial crime risk management across a complex, global banking network.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential for extension or the opportunity to transition into a permanent role.


You will act as a key advisor to business and operations teams, providing guidance on customer due diligence requirements, escalation of financial crime risk issues, and interpretation of regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide AML/CTF and CDD advisory support across business and operational teams
  • Conduct second-line review of complex CDD files, including high-risk customers
  • Assess escalations involving sanctions, PEPs, adverse media, and high-risk jurisdictions
  • Triage and resolve name screening alerts, including sanctions and terrorism financing hits
  • Support correspondent banking due diligence requests and questionnaires
  • Assist in maintaining AML/CTF policies and supporting periodic policy updates
  • Contribute to financial crime control testing and Controls Self-Assessments (CSA)
  • Support reporting requirements across local, regional, and global stakeholders
  • Assist in identifying process improvements within FCC and CDD frameworks
  • Support training and awareness across AML/CTF and financial crime obligations

Key Requirements:

  • Approximately 3+ years' experience in Line 2 Risk- AML, KYC, CDD, or financial crime compliance
  • Strong understanding of Australian AML/CTF legislation and sanctions frameworks
  • Experience in CDD advisory, onboarding, or complex case review
  • Exposure to name screening and escalation handling processes
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to explain risk clearly to stakeholders
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in institutional or corporate banking is highly desirable
