Risk Analyst

A dynamic organisation committed to sustainability, and supporting the transition to cleaner energy are seeking a Risk analyst to join their team.

An innovative mining company focused on sustainable practices and contributing to the global move toward cleaner energy.

The opportunity

Working closely with the Head of Risk and Assurance, the Risk Analyst will play a key role in supporting both operational sites and corporate functions to strengthen risk management practices. This position will help embed the organisation's risk framework and procedures, ensuring that risks are effectively identified, evaluated, and managed across the business.

Key responsibilities would include:

  • Deliver and maintain a rolling risk plan covering assessments, reporting, training, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support risk reporting and analysis for senior leaders, executives, and board committees.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of risk practitioners, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and advice to stakeholders across the business.
  • Plan, facilitate, and document risk workshops using recognised assessment methods.
  • Provide input to strengthen first- and second-line assurance programs for key risks and controls.
  • Evaluate the maturity of risk activities across functions and sites, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of risk standards, procedures, training, and guidance.
  • Support other risk-related projects and initiatives as required.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have/are:

  • Commercial/ Engineering degree, or a related field
  • Certified Practising Risk Associate (CPRA)
  • Proven experience in risk management frameworks, and workshop facilitation (mining industry highly desirable).
  • Skilled in applying risk assessment tools and techniques.
  • Confident in risk reporting and analytics, with exposure to tools such as PowerBI and risk facilitation platforms.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and build a strong risk culture.
