Rehabilitation Consultant / Injury Management Advisor

Mars Recruitment is partnering with a well-established occupational health provider in Western Australia to recruit experienced Rehabilitation Consultant / Injury Management Advisors to support large-scale mining operations.
This is a genuine opportunity for a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, Exercise Physiologist, or health professional who enjoys injury management, stakeholder engagement, and autonomy, without committing to full-time FIFO.
The Opportunity
Multiple roles are available on 9-12 month fixed-term contracts, with a strong likelihood of extension for the right person. The positions are embedded within major international mining organisations, working closely with onsite and offsite health teams.
The roster has been designed with sustainability in mind and typically involves FIFO for one week per month (or less), combined with time based in Perth, Mandurah, and working from home.
Roster options include:
- Full-time (9-day fortnight)
- Part-time (3 days per week)
- Hybrid mix of office, home, and site-based work
When attending site, you'll be supported by excellent facilities, including quality accommodation, gyms, recreational areas, and catering.
The Role
You'll be trusted to manage your own caseload while working collaboratively with medical directors, site leadership, and allied health teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating workers' compensation and injury management cases end to end
- Liaising with insurers, injured workers, treating practitioners, and internal stakeholders
- Supporting return-to-work and recovery-at-work programs
- Maintaining accurate electronic medical and health records
- Supporting onsite medical services (nursing, paramedics, EAP, physiotherapy)
- Classifying work-related injuries in line with OSHA guidelines
- Assisting with management of non-work-related injuries and illnesses
- Conducting behavioural-based Field Leadership observations
- Contributing to broader health and wellbeing initiatives
About You
This role will suit someone confident working autonomously, with the communication skills to influence and support stakeholders across a complex environment.
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a health or science-related discipline
- Current AHPRA or ESSA registration, or similar (Physio, OT, RN, EP, Psychology, OHS, Human Movement, Ergonomics)
- Sound understanding of WorkCover WA Workers' Compensation legislation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong administrative capability
- Full Australian working rights and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Highly desirable (training available):
- Experience in mining, heavy industry, or large operational environments
- Knowledge of OSHA injury and illness classification
- Previous injury management or occupational health exposure
