Locum Occupational Therapist - Cairns & Thursday Island

Location: Cairns OR Thursday Island, QLD
Duration: Flexible start - 12 week contract minimum
Accommodation: Provided on Thursday Island only

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding locum opportunity in North Queensland? We are seeking a clinician to provide essential care across both Cairns OR Thursday Island, working with diverse communities in a regional and remote healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide assessment, intervention, and discharge planning across acute, rehabilitation, and community settings.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with allied health professionals, nursing, and medical staff.
• Deliver client-centred care, focusing on improving functional independence and quality of life.

Skills & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy with current AHPRA registration.
• Experience in acute, subacute, or community-based occupational therapy, ideally in a regional area
• Ability to work effectively in a team and provide culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery.
