Locum Speech Pathologist - Community Role | Regional Victoria
💰 $70-$80 per hour + Super + Accommodation
📍 Regional Victoria | Only 2 hours from Melbourne
📅 ASAP Start | 4-month minimum contract OR 6 month fixed term contract | Potential extension
An exciting locum opportunity is available for a Speech Pathologist to join a supportive community allied health team in regional Victoria, working with older adults and people living with disability to maximise independence and safety at home.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a diverse community caseload while working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
The Role
You will support clients to remain safe, independent and active in their own homes and local community.
Responsibilities include:
* Working with frail aged clients and people living with disability to maximise independence
* Collaborating with clients, carers and families to develop practical solutions for safety at home
* Developing goals and care plans to support independence and wellbeing
* Managing a diverse caseload of health conditions, including progressive neurological disorders
* Delivering services primarily via home visits with some clinic appointments
* Working across HACC PYP, CHSP and occasional NDIS funding streams
* Supporting therapy programs alongside Allied Health Assistants
Key Clinical Skills
* Adult dysphagia management
* Experience with Videofluoroscopy (VFSS)
* Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
* Community Speech Pathology experience
* Experience working with complex and progressive conditions
Ideal Experience
* Experience in a community or home visiting role
* Strong care planning and goal setting skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Experience supporting older adults and people living with disability
