Mars Recruitment are currently partnering with a highly respected not-for-profit mental health organisation to recruit a Service Manager for their Meekatharra service.
This organisation has been supporting young people across Western Australia for over 30 years, delivering innovative and accessible mental health services to young people aged 12-25. With a strong community focus and commitment to culturally safe practice, they are passionate about improving mental health outcomes for young people across regional and remote WA communities.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to oversee and further develop a growing regional youth mental health service while leading a multidisciplinary team within a unique and rewarding community setting.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Service Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations, clinical oversight, stakeholder engagement, and ongoing development of the Meekatharra service.
This position requires a hands-on and community-focused leader who can foster strong local partnerships, support culturally appropriate service delivery, and lead a team of both clinical and non-clinical staff within a remote setting.
The role can be based residentially in Meekatharra or Geraldton, with FIFO arrangements also considered for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and youth engagement staff
- Ensuring services are delivered in a culturally safe, trauma-informed, and person-centred manner
- Collaborating with young people, families, local Elders, and community services to support positive outcomes
- Overseeing intake, assessment, risk management, care coordination, and clinical governance processes
- Managing daily operational requirements including staffing, budgets, reporting, compliance, and KPIs
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across local community groups, Aboriginal organisations, health services, and government bodies
- Supporting staff development through supervision, mentoring, induction, and performance management
- Representing the organisation across regional networks, community meetings, and external stakeholder engagements
- Contributing to strategic service development and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or equivalent
- Current registration or membership with the relevant professional body
- Significant clinical experience working with young people and families within mental health or community settings
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and supporting multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, risk management, and youth mental health service delivery
- Experience working within regional or remote communities
- Extensive experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with an understanding of cultural protocols and community engagement
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities
- Experience managing operational requirements including reporting, compliance, and team performance
- Current Working With Children Check, National Police Clearance, and 'C' Class Driver's Licence
