Business Development Manager

Our client is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure businesses. With a strong track record of performance and delivering for customers, they are growing their portfolio of operations. They are leading the way in renewable gas. Currently, the business requires a Business Development Manager for Adelaide. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing team leadership, customer engagement and commercial accountability.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for delivering business growth by identifying and pursuing new growth opportunities, including network expansion, strategic urban developments, step out developments, maximising value form existing assets and securing large customer connections. This role is responsible for leading a high performing team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve connection and revenue targets by developing effective business development strategies and relationships with customers and their most valuable stakeholders.
  • Ensure customer offerings meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience.
  • Lead and manage a small team of Business Development Representatives focusing on growing the residential and commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Develop a sales strategy and assist with implementing initiatives.
  • Identify and introduce innovative solutions to improve the customer journey and deliver operational efficiency.

Key experience & skills:

  • 7+ years commercial business development experience.
  • Previous experience within the energy sector is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of commercial regulatory principles.
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills, with proven ability to negotiate with multiple stakeholders for successful outcomes.
  • Previous experience managing a team and performance is essential.
