MARS are partnering with a global and ASX listed company that are looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant on an initial 12-month contract. This role is responsible for supporting the financial reporting and consolidation process to deliver internal and external financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS.


The Responsibilities:

• Responsible for quarterly and year-end US GAAP reporting including owning the consolidation process for the Australian business and investments.
• Ensure the Group financial reporting and accounting teams implement necessary accounting processes for accurate financial reporting.
• Overseeing the annual reporting and financial statement preparation in accordance with IFRS.
• Assist in the provision of technical accounting guidance to the group on unique or complex accounting transactions relating to US GAAP and IFRS.
• Accountable for leading efforts to streamline processes and implement ongoing improvements, aiming to establish an optimal finance function based on best practices.
• Contribute to maintaining a strong internal control environment compliant with SOX.
• Liaising with internal and external auditors to make necessary recommendations.
• Offer guidance and coaching to support the development of junior team members.

The Requirements:

• CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years across in a similar finance function.
• Ideally Big 4 or Mid-Tier trained with subsequent commercial experience.
• Previous financial reporting experience involving the consolidation of large and complex groups.
• Strong experience with US GAAP and IFRS is highly preferred.
• Ability to engage stakeholders and build strong relationships.
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational and communications skills - both written and verbal.
• Experience managing financial consolidation systems - OneStream is beneficial.
• Motivated high performer with ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

To Note:

• Shorter notice periods will be highly preferred.
• Previous experience in the Big 4 or Mid-Tier Audit field with subsequent commercial experience is highly desired.
• They operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
• Work holiday visas are encouraged to apply if valid for the next 12+ months.
