MARS are proudly partnering with an established and well-regarded company, that's seeking an experienced seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join on an initial 3-month contract, starting mid-March.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced accountant who can step in quickly and support BAU financial accounting and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead month-end accounting activities across multiple entities, including journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and review management reports, financial statements, and ad-hoc analysis to support internal decision-making
Ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting, and taxation requirements
Support interim and year-end audits, liaising with auditors and providing timely responses to queries
Maintain and enhance financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes
Monitor and assist with BAS submissions, bank reconciliations, and other regulatory reporting
Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve accounting queries and provide insights into financial performance
Contribute to short-term finance projects, system updates, or process improvements where needed
Provide accurate, timely, and reliable financial information to support operational and strategic initiatives
About You:
CA/CPA qualified with at least 4+ years' experience in financial accounting within a commercial environment
Strong technical accounting skills, including journal preparation, reconciliations, and reporting
Competent in Excel and finance systems; relational database experience desirable
Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
Confident working autonomously in a contract capacity
Requirements:
Candidates straight from audit are not being considered for this role
Applicants from an audit background must have at least 1.5 years of subsequent commercial experience
Must be available able to commence employment by mid-March
Able to commit a 3-month assignment till mid-June
To Note:
Flexible WFH arrangements - 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
The successful candidate is required to carry out a national police check.
