The Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial operations, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of supporting both day-to-day finance functions and strategic finance initiatives.

A critical requirement for this role is demonstrated experience using Oracle NetSuite in a finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Manage month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process and review general ledger transactions.
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and treasury activities.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required.
  • Monitor and maintain fixed asset registers.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management reports and financial analysis.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Analyse financial performance and provide insights to management.
  • Prepare variance analysis and commentary on financial results.
  • Support statutory reporting requirements.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Assist with external audits and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support taxation compliance including BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and other regulatory obligations.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Act as a key user for Oracle NetSuite across the finance function.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with finance system enhancements, reporting automation, and data integrity initiatives.
  • Support finance transformation and continuous improvement projects.
