Senior Cost Controller

Position Overview:

As a Senior Cost Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising their cost accounting processes. You will work closely with various departments to analyse costs, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance profitability. Your expertise will be crucial in providing accurate financial insights and driving informed decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain cost accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Analyse processes and product costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop and implement cost allocation methodologies to accurately assign expenses to products and projects.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with various teams to establish cost standards and monitor performance against targets.
  • Lead cost variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial integrity.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing valuable input to support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting, recommending changes or enhancements as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • CA/CPA qualified with 8+ years' experience in cost accounting.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Advanced skills in financial analysis, Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering results.

  • Only Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered for this role.
  • They operate in the office 5 days a week.
