MARS Recruitment is partnering with a well established Australian mining company seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Specialist - Logistics to join their Supply & Logistics team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded contracts and logistics professional to manage critical logistics agreements and supplier relationships supporting large-scale mining operations. Working closely with operational stakeholders, contractors and service providers, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective movement of materials and commodities across the supply chain.

About the Role

Reporting into the Supply & Logistics leadership team, you will be responsible for managing complex logistics contracts, supplier performance, freight activities and supply chain initiatives across domestic and international operations.

The role offers a diverse mix of contract management, supplier engagement, logistics coordination, performance reporting and continuous improvement activities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with both operational and commercial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage high-value logistics agreements and supplier relationships
• Coordinate domestic and international logistics supply chains
• Support bulk commodity movements across rail and shipping networks
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular performance reviews
• Resolve contractual disputes, claims and settlement matters
• Support tendering, evaluation and contract award processes
• Prepare and maintain KPI reporting for logistics providers and stakeholders
• Assist with project freight planning, cost estimates and logistics strategies
• Support business improvement and change management initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations and statutory requirements
• Maintain accurate contract records and documentation
• Provide logistics contract management support across the broader team as required

About You

• Previous experience in contracts, procurement, logistics or supply chain management within mining, resources or heavy industry
• Strong contract administration and supplier management experience
• Exposure to rail, shipping, freight or bulk commodity logistics highly regarded
• Experience managing claims, disputes and contractual correspondence
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and governance focus
• Strong reporting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work collaboratively across operational, commercial and corporate teams
