We’re partnering with a leading Australian media and technology brand that’s currently going through an exciting period of change and transformation. They’re looking for an experienced Senior Communications Manager to join their Corporate Affairs & Communications team on a 3-month contract, with an immediate start.
In this pivotal role, you’ll take the lead on both internal and external communications, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging across the business during a time of transition.
You'll play a hands-on role managing our PR function, driving team planning and execution, and ensuring consistent and engaging communications across the business. This position requires someone calm under pressure, highly organised, and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the PR team (two direct reports), ensuring strong team planning, prioritisation, and delivery.
Oversee day-to-day media relations particularly across consumer media including story pitching, press office management, and proactive media engagement.
Coach and mentor the PR team, building capability and confidence in pitching and execution.
Partner closely with the Head of Comms and Corporate Affairs on internal communications during the integration.
Deliver the internal newsletter and contribute to wider internal comms initiatives.
Help develop the 2026 communications and media plan, ensuring strong processes and systems are in place for next year.
Support occasional early-morning or weekend media activities when required.
About You
Strong background in Public Relations either in-house or agency with experience leading or managing teams.
Proven ability to pitch to media and manage a high-performing press office.
Exceptional organisational and planning skills, with a focus on systems and process improvement.
Calm, pragmatic, and confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Able to work autonomously and adapt quickly to change.
Ideal backgrounds: media, consumer brands, property, or technology. Former journalists who've moved in-house are highly regarded.
Experience in corporate affairs and internal comms is an advantage.
