Senior Audit Manager

MARS Recruitment is teaming up with a respected mid-tier public practice firm dedicated to providing exceptional audit and advisory services to a diverse range of clients. As a Senior Audit Manager, you will play a key leadership role within our firm, overseeing audit engagements, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior team members. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients across different industries, providing valuable insights and strategic recommendations to drive their businesses forward. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to finalisation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and providing exceptional service
  • Oversee and coach audit team members, guiding their growth and fostering their professional advancement.
  • Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and other documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and changes in regulations, ensuring compliance and advising clients accordingly
  • Delivering Audit Reports and Audit Management Letters to executive-level stakeholders and during Annual General Meetings (AGMs).
  • Work collaboratively with partners and senior management to propel firm-wide initiatives and contribute to strategic planning endeavours.

Criteria:

  • 8+ years of experience in external auditing
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CA/CPA/ACCA qualification
  • Strong knowledge of the application of Australian Accounting Standards (AASBs) and Australian Standards of Auditing (ASAs)
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft product suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is a requirement.
  • Familiarity with CaseWare or similar audit file technology is preferred.
  • Experience working with not-for-profit clients is highly valued
  • Exceptional communication both verbal and written
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills
