Senior Advisor, Internal Communications I Global Company

Seeking an Internal Communications Advisor in either Melbourne or Sydney on a permanent basis.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of internal communications across Australia within a global organisation. As the Senior Advisor, Internal Communications, you will lead the development and delivery of communication strategies that connect employees to the business, strengthen engagement, and bring company culture to life.

You'll work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to translate complex information into clear, engaging messaging, while driving consistency across internal channels.

Key Responsibilities



Strategic Communications

  • Provide expert internal communications advice to support people-focused initiatives, projects and Town Halls
  • Develop and execute communication plans to support employee engagement, business priorities and internal campaigns
  • Translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible messaging for diverse audiences
  • Support leadership messaging, presentations and engagement initiatives
  • Identify and manage award and recognition opportunities that enhance brand and employee engagement


Content & Channel Management

  • Develop and implement a content and channel strategy to drive engagement, attraction and retention
  • Create, curate and deliver engaging content across a range of internal channels (digital, video and written)
  • Own and deliver the fortnightly employee newsletter
  • Lead the editorial strategy for internal platforms, including the intranet and Town Halls


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with key functions such as HR, IT and Safety to support internal engagement and safety communications
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure communications are timely, accurate and impactful
  • Collaborate on global communication initiatives, ensuring alignment between local and global priorities


Reporting & Insights

  • Gather employee feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness
  • Monitor engagement metrics and channel performance
  • Provide regular reporting and insights, with recommendations for optimisation
  • Act as the communications lead for internal platforms such as the intranet and EDM tools

Qualifications & Experience

  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, coaching and interpersonal), with strong copywriting and editing capability and a keen eye for detail
  • Experience creating and repurposing content across multiple channels and audiences
  • Strong content development skills across written, video and visual communications
  • 3-5 years' experience in strategic communications, recruitment marketing, employee engagement, change management, or a related field
  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or a related discipline
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
