The Senior Accounts Payable & Receivable Officer will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier payments and customer receivables. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative finance team and contribute to maintaining strong financial controls, efficient processes, and excellent stakeholder relationships.
Accounts Payable:
Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable processing, including invoice matching, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Ensure compliance with company policies, GST, and other statutory requirements.
Maintain accurate supplier records and support month-end accruals and reporting.
Accounts Receivable:
Oversee the timely invoicing and receipting of customer payments.
Monitor outstanding debts and follow up on overdue accounts in a professional and customer-focused manner.
Reconcile AR sub-ledger to the general ledger and prepare debtor ageing reports.
Liaise with internal departments and customers to resolve billing or payment issues.
General Finance Support:
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journals.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within AP/AR processes.
Provide financial information and reporting support to the Finance Manager as required.
Contribute to system enhancements and participate in finance-related projects.
Minimum 4-5 years' experience in a combined Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable role, ideally in a medium-to-large organisation.
Experience in retail, wholesale, or FMCG environments will be highly regarded.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
