About the Company

Our client is a well-established multinational organisation with a strong global presence and a reputation for operational excellence. With a collaborative and high-performing finance team based in Melbourne CBD, they are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer to support and enhance their AP function.


Position Overview

The Senior Accounts Payable Officer will play a key role in overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all transactions. This role will also provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to process improvements within the finance function.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-function accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliations
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring correct coding and compliance with company policies
  • Maintain vendor master data and manage supplier relationships
  • Resolve complex invoice discrepancies and payment queries in a timely manner
  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs (EFT, BPAY, international payments)
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items
  • Assist with month-end close, including accruals and reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy


Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior accounts payable role, ideally within a large or multinational organisation
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end accounts payable processes
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. MYOB, Xero, or similar)
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

AU$90000 - AU$100000 per annum + Super
