Security Analyst

Company

Our client is a leading global professional services organisation with a large, complex technology environment. They are currently undertaking a number of cyber security uplift initiatives and are looking for a hands-on Cyber Security Specialist to join their team on an initial six-month contract.

The role will work across Security, EUC and Infrastructure teams, helping identify and remediate vulnerabilities across a hybrid Microsoft environment.

Role

This is a practical security engineering role with a strong focus on vulnerability remediation, patching and security hardening. 6 month dayrate contract view to extend.

You'll work across endpoint, server, cloud, identity and infrastructure environments, reviewing vulnerabilities and configuration weaknesses, prioritising risk and working with technical teams to implement remediation through established change processes.

The environment is heavily Microsoft-focused, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Defender, with a particular focus on improving security controls aligned to the Essential Eight.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess and prioritise vulnerabilities across endpoints, infrastructure and applications.
  • Drive hands-on remediation including patching, configuration changes and security hardening.
  • Analyse vulnerability data from platforms such as Qualys, Tenable or Rapid7.
  • Support Essential Eight uplift and implementation of CIS-aligned security controls.
  • Work across Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with EUC, Infrastructure, Networks and Security teams to remediate identified risks.
  • Support Active Directory security, Conditional Access, privileged access and endpoint security controls.
  • Ensure remediation activities are appropriately managed through CAB and established change processes.

Candidate Experience

  • 5-10 years' broader IT experience, ideally across EUC, infrastructure or systems engineering with a strong security focus.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, remediation, patching and security hardening within a Microsoft/Azure hybrid environment.
  • Strong understanding of the ACSC Essential Eight, with exposure to vulnerability management tools such as Qualys, Tenable or Rapid7 and technologies including Azure, Entra ID, Intune and Microsoft Defender.
