Role Overview

As the Revenue Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the revenue cycle operations, ensuring accurate and timely billing, claims processing, and revenue recognition. You will lead a small team, collaborate with clinical and administrative departments, and ensure compliance with industry standards and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the revenue cycle team including billing, collections, and claims reconciliation.

  • Monitor and report on revenue performance metrics and trends.

  • Ensure all billing and coding practices comply with Medicare, health fund, and regulatory requirements.

  • Investigate and resolve revenue discrepancies, denials, and delayed payments.

  • Provide training, mentoring, and support to revenue staff to promote continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with clinical departments to streamline revenue-related processes and enhance patient billing experience.

  • Assist with audits, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes related to revenue.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar revenue, billing, or finance supervisory role within a healthcare setting is essential.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing systems, Medicare, DVA, TAC, WorkCover, and private health fund processes.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

  • High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and health information systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, iPM, etc.).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

  • Certification in Health Information Management or Revenue Cycle Management (desirable).
