Mars Recruitment are parterning with a leading service‑based organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager for an initial 4‑month contract, with possibility for extension. This role suits a commercially sharp procurement professional who can step in immediately and take ownership of end‑to‑end procurement across a diverse category portfolio, with a strong focus on contract negotiation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Category planning that optimises cost, performance and risk
• Manage contract negotiations and esnure approvals are managed correctly
• Spend and market analysis to inform sourcing strategies
• Lead RFI/RFP processes, tender evaluations and commercial negotiations
• Formulate and manage contracts, schedules and supplier KPIs
• Maintain preferred supplier registers and contract management systems
• Champion P2P compliance, coach stakeholders and convert PRs to POs
• Drive continuous improvement, standardisation and procurement innovation
• Build strong relationships across the organisation and lead cross‑functional delivery

• 5+ years' generalist procurement experience
• Strong sourcing, negotiation and contract management capability
• Experience managing multi‑million‑dollar categories
• Ability to coach stakeholders and lead cross‑functional teams
• Solid understanding of P2P processes and procurement systems
• Commercial acumen, analytical strength and strategic thinking
• Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• CIPSA/CIPS qualification (desirable)
