We're looking for a Junior Procurement Officer to join a busy team and keep the purchasing function running like clockwork. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for managing daily purchase orders-particularly from a local supplier base-while keeping backorders under control to protect the customer experience.
You'll be working for a Melbourne-based supplier founded in 1985, now operating nationwide with offices and distribution centres across Australia-offering over 13,000 products in plumbing, HVAC, fire services, and electrical solutions.
Raise and process daily purchase orders, primarily from local suppliers.
Monitor and manage backorders proactively to avoid delays or stockouts.
Coordinate closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams to anticipate needs and resolve issues quickly.
Raise works orders for our onsite fabrication workshop.
Assist with interstate stock transfers when required.
Must-haves:
2-3 years' experience in purchasing, procurement support, or supply chain-related role.
Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, filtering, formatting).
Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Naturally proactive with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.
Familiarity with Netstock or MYOB CRM or similar.
