About the Company

Our client is a well-established and growing organisation known for its collaborative culture, supportive leadership team, and strong reputation within their industry. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their finance team and support the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the business.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will see you responsible for end-to-end payroll processing while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, awards, and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing on a weekly/fortnightly basis
  • Maintaining accurate employee payroll records and data
  • Processing new starters, terminations, superannuation, and leave entitlements
  • Interpreting awards, EBAs, and payroll legislation
  • Managing payroll queries from employees in a timely and professional manner
  • Processing payroll reconciliations and assisting with month-end reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with Fair Work, ATO, and Superannuation requirements
  • Assisting with payroll audits and continuous process improvements
  • Supporting the finance team with ad hoc administrative duties as required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Payroll Officer position
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements
  • Experience processing end-to-end payroll independently
  • Exposure to payroll systems such as Chris21, Micropay, ADP, Employment Hero, Preceda, or similar
  • Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet strict deadlines
