MARS Recruitment has partnered with a leading financial services organisation to recruit a Payroll Officer for a permanent opportunity. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, delivering accurate payroll insights, interpreting policies, and ensuring compliance with legislation. Experience with either NetSuite, Workday or Oracle is required for this role.

The Responsibilities:

• Process monthly payroll for approximately 650 employees.
• Prepare and reconcile month-end journals, ensuring accurate and timely calculation and payment of payroll liabilities, including PAYG tax, payroll tax, superannuation, and employee deductions.
• Perform end-of-year payroll reconciliations for group tax, payroll tax, and related obligations, maintaining full compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Calculate and process termination and redundancy payments in accordance with legislative and company requirements.
• Provide responsive support to employees on payroll queries, including pay discrepancies, personal information updates, and use of the self-service portal.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes affecting payroll, tax, superannuation, and employment law.

The Requirements:

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must have experience with and be proficient with either Netsuite, Workday or Oracle.
• Experience in a hands-on role with high levels of attention to detail.
