With operations across Australia and a collaborative workplace culture, they are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their supportive finance team on an intial 12 month fixed term contract with strong likelihood for permanent conversion.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large employee workforce across multiple sites. You will be responsible for ensuring payroll compliance while providing exceptional support to internal stakeholders and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end processing of payroll on a weekly and/or fortnightly basis
  • Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and in line with relevant Awards, EBAs, and legislation
  • Managing new starters, terminations, payroll adjustments, and employee record maintenance
  • Processing leave entitlements, superannuation, payroll tax, and deductions
  • Responding to payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders
  • Reconciling payroll reports and assisting with month-end reporting requirements
  • Maintaining payroll compliance and ensuring confidentiality of employee information
  • Supporting process improvements and assisting with payroll projects where required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in a Payroll Officer position processing end-to-end payroll
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Awards, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using large payroll or ERP systems
  • A proactive and team-focused approach
Salary
AU$80000 - AU$85000 per annum + Super
