MARS Recruitment are partnering with a leading national organisation to recruit a highly skilled Payroll Officer to join their welcoming team.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services across multiple entities. You'll work closely with key stakeholders to ensure legislative compliance, maintain data integrity, and support broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end processing of both fortnightly and monthly payrolls across multiple Australian entities
Ensure compliance with state-based payroll tax, superannuation obligations, and other statutory deductions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and payroll data across multiple systems
Interpret and apply relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, contracts, and organisational policies
Manage claims and payments for work cover, income protection, and related benefits
Liaise with Finance to provide accurate payroll reporting and process payment requests
Undertake internal payroll checks and assist with external audit requirements as needed
About You
Demonstrated payroll experience in a mid-sized or larger organisation
Knowledge of SAP is an advantage but not essential
Strong numerical accuracy and meticulous attention to data integrity
Sound understanding of payroll legislation, including Award interpretation, Fair Work compliance, payroll tax, superannuation, and salary sacrifice
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex payroll queries
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
High level of discretion when working with confidential information
