Investment Banking Associate (M&A)

The Opportunity

A high-impact Associate role within an accomplished advisory team. You will own transaction execution across the full deal lifecycle on sell-side mandates, mentor junior team members, and contribute to business development working alongside senior bankers on some of Australia's most significant M&A transactions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Execute transactions end-to-end: marketing materials, financial analysis, client presentations, information memoranda, and data room management.
  • Build and communicate complex financial models DCF, trading and transaction comparables with clarity to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Assess the strategic and financial merits of transactions; develop and deliver compelling client pitches.
  • Coordinate due diligence across legal, tax, and accounting advisors; manage buyer processes and workstream delivery.
  • Lead and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performance environment.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' IB (bulge, independent or boutique) experience with direct M&A transaction execution.
  • Outstanding academic credentials in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Advanced financial modelling capability; strong grounding in corporate finance and accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; rigorous attention to detail and a commitment to quality under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal with proven ability to engage senior clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to manage workstreams and develop junior talent independently.
