Head of Procurement

The Opportunity

MARS Recruitment is partnering with a reputable, purpose-driven organisation to appoint a highly capable Head of Procurement.

As Head of Procurement, you will lead the development and execution of the organisation's procurement strategy and commercial frameworks. You will ensure procurement activity aligns with organisational priorities and values through disciplined governance, strategic sourcing, and strong risk management practices.

The Role



Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing procurement strategies, policies and governance frameworks

  • Leading strategic sourcing and category management across key spend areas

  • Providing commercial oversight across tendering and contract negotiation

  • Ensuring regulatory, legislative and policy compliance across all procurement activity

  • Driving contract performance management and lifecycle optimisation
  • Establishing procurement analytics, reporting standards and performance dashboards to support executive decision-making

  • Coaching and mentoring team members to build capability, engagement and accountability

  • Partnering with executive and operational stakeholders to strengthen commercial outcomes

  • Supporting safeguarding and governance obligations relevant to the organisation's operating environment

About You

You are an experienced procurement leader with a track record of building strategically aligned procurement functions that deliver measurable operational impact.

You will bring:

  • Degree qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce or related discipline

  • Extensive experience leading procurement functions within complex, multi-stakeholder environments

  • Strong knowledge of procurement governance, audit processes and regulatory compliance

  • Experience leading change, embedding systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strong analytical capability with data-informed decision-making experience

  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop diverse teams
