Location: City Fringe (4 days in office | 1 day from home)

Salary: $160,000-$180,000 + super + STI

A mid-size fast-growing Australian founded retail business and they've never had a dedicated FP&A function. Until now.

Their FP&A processes was built for a smaller business, and the foundations are there, but they just need someone to tear them down and rebuild them fit for where this business is heading.

They're a D2C and wholesale business that operates in 2 markets. And while most businesses are still debating whether social selling is worth the investment, this one is already making it work and you'll support the commercial framework behind one of retail's most exciting emerging channels.

You'll work alongside some wonderful leaders who know this business inside out, with a real opportunity to shape what the function looks and influence decision making that will impact the next phase of growth.

What you'll do

  • Rebuild the budget process - bottom-up build, partnering with business units
  • Rebuild and improve reporting templates;
  • Develop weekly cash flow projections and culture
  • Build channel profitability reporting across channels
  • Bring financial rigour and process to the business in a way that educates
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Management reporting -producing monthly P&L and performance packs for senior leadership, with commentary that explains the numbers, not just presents them
  • Business partnering - acting as the finance voice to operational and commercial teams, helping them understand their numbers and make better decisions
  • Financial modelling and scenario analysis - building models to support strategic decisions, new initiatives, capex, or pricing
  • Cash flow forecasting - maintaining short and medium-term cash flow visibility for the CFO and board

What you'll need

  • CA/CPA with strong commercial finance and genuine business partnering experience
  • Retail experience essential; apparel retail preferred
  • Comfortable rebuilding where foundations exist but haven't kept pace - you won't have process handed to you
  • Experience across both large and smaller businesses, so you know what both sides look like
