North Sydney | Permanent | Commercial Finance Role
* Partner directly with the Executive Leadership Team and senior department leaders
* Take ownership of FP&A and have the autonomy to improve processes and make changes
* Broad commercial role combining forecasting, analysis, business partnering and strategic decision support
An opportunity is available for an experienced FP&A Manager to join a complex, fast-paced organisation based in North Sydney.
Reporting to the Deputy CFO, you will take ownership of the financial planning and analysis function, leading budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and management reporting while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a spreadsheet. Communication and business partnering are critical.
You will need to confidently engage with the ELT and department managers, understand their commercial challenges and translate financial information into clear, practical insights that help them make better decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
* Own financial models, planning tools and forecasting processes
* Deliver performance, profitability, cost and variance analysis
* Prepare management reporting, dashboards and executive-level insights
* Partner with the ELT, operations and department leaders across the organisation
* Translate complex financial information for non-finance stakeholders
* Develop business cases and evaluate investment opportunities
* Provide commercial recommendations around risks, opportunities and performance
* Identify opportunities to improve and automate FP&A processes
* Lead and develop a Financial Analyst
We are looking for someone who combines strong FP&A capability with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
You will ideally have:
* CA, CPA or equivalent qualification
* Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting experience
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills
* Proven experience partnering with senior executives and non-finance stakeholders
* Strong commercial acumen and financial modelling capability
* Experience within a large corporate environment and/or Big 4
* Experience across B2B or B2C environments
* Advanced Excel and strong presentation skills
* A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes
The formal brief specifically emphasises stakeholder engagement, communication, leadership and business partnering as essential capabilities.
You will suit this business if you enjoy ownership, pace and accountability. They want someone prepared to roll their sleeves up, take control of the process and make things better rather than simply maintain the status quo.
* Highly visible role with exposure to the Executive Leadership Team
* Genuine ownership of the FP&A process
* Opportunity to drive change and process improvement
* Broad commercial exposure across the organisation
* North Sydney location with business parking available
* Opportunity to lead, influence and make a tangible impact on business performance
