Financial Accountant – 6M Contract

Opportunity for a qualified individual to join a large and reputable organisation with heavy involvement in month-end, reconciliations and journals.

MARS are partnering with a well-established and recognised organisation within the Healthcare space that are looking to hire a Financial Accountant on an initial 6-month contract basis, with the potential for extension.

Working within a large finance team of 70+ people, this position would suit someone with strong Financial Accounting experience that's looking to utilise their skillset in a high performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive month-end and year-end close activities for all entities across the Group, including preparation and review of complex journals (accruals, prepayments, allocations) and detailed Balance Sheet / GL reconciliations.
  • Manage processing of key invoices and calculations, applying a strong understanding of business unit operations.
  • Prepare and provide data for external audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of responses.
  • Oversee the operational implementation of project ledger policies and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Address reporting queries from researchers, providing accurate and timely financial support.
  • Contribute to the rollout of new systems and accounting processes, helping to embed best practice.
  • Apply finance policies, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen governance and compliance.

About You:

You are a detail-oriented and technically strong Financial Accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. With excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, you are confident working both independently and as part of a team. You take pride in delivering accurate results, supporting process improvements, and contributing to organisational goals.

The Requirements:

  • CA/CPA qualified with 4+ years in a similar finance function.
  • Exposure to the healthcare industry is beneficial.
  • Strong experience in month-end close and reconciliations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting standards.
  • Confident with Excel and large ERP systems, Tech One is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

To Note:

  • Available at less than 2 weeks' notice - shorter notice periods will be highly favoured.
  • Experience in a commercial environment (outside of audit) is essential.
  • They operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
  • There is paid parking available on-site but also a short walk from the metro.
