An excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a sophisticated investment and financial services environment.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for management and statutory reporting across multiple investment funds, while gaining exposure to complex financial instruments, asset valuations, fund accounting and financial markets.
This role will suit a technically strong CA/CPA who enjoys working in a complex environment and wants exposure beyond traditional financial accounting.
Key responsibilities include:
* Complete management and statutory reporting across multiple investment funds
* Undertake financial and fund accounting activities
* Review valuations across listed and unlisted investments
* Work closely with outsourced fund administrators and custodians
* Prepare and review statutory financial statements
* Complete daily, weekly and monthly financial controls and month-end activities
* Review fund expenses, management fees and fee revenue calculations
* Prepare and lodge external financial returns
* Liaise with investors, auditors, custodians and other key stakeholders
* Support annual audit and financial statement processes
* Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, controls and reporting
* Support projects focused on improving fund oversight and operational efficiency
You will ideally have:
* CA or CPA qualification
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar
* Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
* Experience within financial services, funds, investment management, corporate treasury or a Chartered environment
* Strong understanding of financial instruments and financial markets
* Exposure to fund accounting and investment products highly regarded
* Strong financial reporting and technical accounting knowledge
* Advanced Excel capability
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
