An Australian Government agency is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its Finance and Property Team.
This is a broad financial accounting role within a small and collaborative team, providing exposure across month end, taxation, financial reporting, asset accounting and financial governance.

You will support the delivery of accurate and timely financial information across the organisation, working closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing and reviewing month end journals
* Preparing BAS, FBT and TPAR returns
* Completing complex reconciliations and fixed asset accounting
* Preparing monthly actuals reporting through CBMS
* Supporting annual financial statements and external audit
* Maintaining financial data within TechnologyOne
* Providing financial analysis and practical advice to stakeholders
* Supporting financial controls, compliance and continuous improvement
We are looking for a Financial Accountant with strong technical accounting experience and excellent attention to detail.
You will ideally have experience with:
* Month end accounting and financial reporting
* Annual financial statements and audit
* Complex reconciliations and fixed assets
* BAS, FBT and TPAR
* Australian Accounting Standards
* TechnologyOne and Microsoft Excel
* Stakeholder engagement and financial analysis
Public sector experience and knowledge of the PGPA framework would be highly regarded.
A relevant Accounting, Finance or Commerce qualification is required, with CPA or CA qualification highly regarded.
You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of applying and be willing to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
You will also be required to undertake a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and pre employment psychological assessment.
