MARS are partnering an established and evolving financial services organisation to appoint a Finance Systems Manager to lead the uplift of finance systems and reporting capability. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of finance, technology and process improvement, helping the business transition from Excel-based reporting to automated dashboards, scalable data solutions, and AI-enabled workflows.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll own finance systems initiatives, reporting automation, and dashboard development, ensuring high-quality data flows from core systems through to the data warehouse. You'll also drive continuous improvement and emerging technology adoption while supporting statutory reporting and audit processes.

The Responsibilities:

Systems & Reporting Automation:

• Lead the design, build and maintenance of automated reporting solutions and dashboards
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness and integrity from source systems into the data warehouse
• Transition finance processes away from Excel into scalable, automated systems

AI & Technology Enablement:

• Identify and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance reporting and efficiency
• Stay across emerging technologies and best practices in finance automation

Continuous Improvement:

• Review, document and enhance existing finance processes and controls
• Identify opportunities to standardise, streamline and automate finance activities

Year-End & Half-Year Reporting:

• Prepare financial statements for designated entities
• Support ESG reporting initiatives
• Act as a key contact for auditors during year-end and half-year reporting

Team Support & Collaboration:

• Assist with selected month-end tasks and provide coverage during peak periods
• Build strong relationships across finance and the wider business

The Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, CA/CPA qualification and 8+ years' experience with a strong background in a systems accounting focused role
• Must have experience from a Big 4/Mid-Tier firm or come from a large complex and/or ASX listed environment (essential)
• Hands-on experience in finance systems, reporting, dashboards and transformation initiatives
• Strong process improvement and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Financial services experience highly regarded but not essential
• Reliable, adaptable, deadline-focused and solutions-oriented
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
• Interest in AI and emerging finance technologies

To Note:

• They operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
• Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have long-term working rights
