MARS Recruitment is partnering with a growing, organisation to recruit a hands-on Finance Officer. This role offers strong exposure across accounts payable, invoicing, and payroll, and would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and being part of a business going through positive change.

This is a predominantly transactional role with the opportunity to contribute to process improvement.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

Transactional Finance

• End-to-end accounts payable, including high-volume invoice processing
• Supplier payments, coding, and posting using Xero
• Customer invoicing, including seasonal and customer-specific billing
• Supporting accounts receivable as required
• Assisting with reconciliations and ledger maintenance (desirable)

Payroll

• End-to-end payroll processing in Xero following a recent acquisition
• Weekly payroll for circa 15 staff and fortnightly payroll for head office employees
• Maintaining payroll master data (onboarding, changes, terminations)
• Ensuring compliance with Fair Work, awards, and statutory obligations

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a combined transactional finance and payroll role
• Strong hands-on experience with Xero and Excel
• Background in manufacturing, agriculture, or sales-led environments is advantageous
• Comfortable working autonomously in an initial remote setup
• Detail-oriented, practical, and solutions-focused
