MARS Recruitment is partnering with a growing financial services business to recruit a Finance Manager to join its Sydney team.

This is a newly created role for a commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of an allocated part of the business, partnering closely with senior leadership while leading a dedicated offshore finance team.

With the business continuing to scale, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership across financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, pricing, finance operations and team leadership, while helping build and develop the finance function for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own financial reporting and insights - deliver accurate management reporting and provide meaningful analysis to support business performance and decision-making
• Drive budgeting and forecasting - lead financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis for your allocated area of the business
• Support pricing and commercial performance - analyse pricing, margins and financial performance to help optimise commercial outcomes
• Partner with the wider business - build strong relationships with stakeholders and contribute to strategic initiatives that support the continued growth of the business
• Oversee finance operations - manage day-to-day finance activities including settlements, funding, drawdowns, reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and financial administration
• Strengthen processes and controls - identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting, controls and the use of data across the business
• Lead and develop the finance team - manage, coach and develop a dedicated offshore team, building capability and ensuring high standards across the function

About You:

• CA or CPA qualified with 7+ years' experience, ideally starting in a chartered firm in a Business Services or Audit function
• Experience in financial services or non-bank lending is preferred, but high-performing candidates from business services or commercial finance backgrounds will be considered
• Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability
• Commercially minded, with an ability to analyse financial performance and support pricing decisions
• Experience managing, coaching or developing a finance team
• Hands-on, proactive and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing SME environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

To Note:

• Experience in banking, non-bank lending or financial services is preferred but not essential
• Individuals from a business advisory/services firm with subsequent commercial finance experience are encouraged to apply
• Hybrid work model of 3 days in the Sydney CBD office
• Must be a Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold long-term working rights in Australia
