MARS Recruitment is partnering with a leading Australian professional services firm to recruit a Finance Manager. This role will oversee the finance team's daily treasury and accounts receivable operations, manage month-end processes, and ensure timely tax lodgements, supporting smooth cash flow and accurate financial reporting.
The Responsibilities:
Performing daily bank reconciliations for multiple trust and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of transactions.
Preparing and submitting payment batches (including trust and operating accounts) for approval by senior leadership, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Running and distributing debtors reports, following up with partners on overdue accounts, and maintaining accurate records of client balances.
Conducting bank checks at ANZ to validate transaction integrity and reconcile discrepancies.
Processing write-offs, issuing credit notes, and managing client refunds in line with firm policies.
Preparing and lodging BAS/IAS and other tax obligations, ensuring timely compliance with ATO requirements.
Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, journal entries, and reconciliation of accounts.
Producing monthly archive and management reports to support financial close, audit readiness, and internal reporting requirements.
Supporting senior accountants and management with ad-hoc financial analysis, budget tracking, and expense monitoring.
The Requirements:
CA/CPA qualified.
5+ years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
Strong reconciliation, reporting, and attention to detail skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Ability to hit the ground running and deliver accurate information.
