Cultural Heritage Specialist

A unique opportunity has become available for a Cultural Heritage Specialist to join a growing mining operation in Western Australia during an exciting phase of expansion.

This newly created role will play a critical part in shaping the organisation's community engagement, cultural heritage, and social responsibility strategy, with a strong focus on building meaningful, long-term partnerships with Traditional Owners.

Reporting into senior leadership, you will lead engagement initiatives, working closely with local representatives to ensure respectful, transparent, and sustainable outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a genuine impact, with flexibility on offer (including a 4-day working week).

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement a community engagement strategy across local mining region
* Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with Traditional Owner groups and key stakeholders
* Manage Indigenous Land Use Agreements including ongoing administration and future revisions
* Support the development and rollout of the organisation's Reconciliation Action Plan
* Contribute to local procurement and Indigenous participation strategies

About You

* Background in Environmental Science, Social Performance, Anthropology, or related field
* Experience working with Indigenous communities, ideally within mining, resources, or infrastructure
* Strong understanding of cultural heritage, land access, and community engagement frameworks
* Experience managing agreements (e.g. ILUAs) or similar stakeholder frameworks highly regarded
* Excellent relationship-building skills with a genuine, respectful and collaborative approach
* Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a developing environment
* Passion for ESG, community impact, and sustainable development
