Credit Controller (9-month contract)

Credit Controller job opportunity to join our client a global retail business on an initial 9-month contract
About the Company

Our client is a leading global retail business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service. With operations spanning multiple regions, they pride themselves on delivering premium products and outstanding value to their customers. Due to ongoing growth and internal progression, they are seeking an experienced and motivated Credit Controller to join their high-performing finance team.



About the Role

Reporting to the National Credit Manager, the Credit Controller will play a key role in managing the company's accounts receivable function. You'll be responsible for ensuring timely collection of customer payments, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, and contributing to continuous improvement of credit and collection processes.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full credit control and accounts receivable function across multiple customer accounts.

  • Monitor customer credit limits, assess credit risk, and make recommendations for approvals.

  • Liaise with internal departments (sales, customer service, and logistics) to resolve account and invoicing queries.

  • Proactively follow up on outstanding debts and ensure timely collection of payments.

  • Reconcile accounts and allocate receipts accurately.

  • Prepare regular reports on aged debt, cash flow forecasting, and debtor performance.

  • Assist with month-end processes and audit requirements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the credit and receivables function.



Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a Credit Controller or Accounts Receivable role, ideally within a medium to large organisation.

  • Strong understanding of credit management principles and debt collection practices.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a customer-centric approach.

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and intermediate Excel skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
