Credit Analyst – Agriculture & Specialist Lending

Exciting Credit Analyst role in Sydney focusing on agri-lending, financial analysis, deal structuring and portfolio credit management.

Mars Recruitment is currently partnering with a specialist lending and investment organisation seeking a Credit Analyst to join their growing credit and investment team in Sydney.

This is a hands-on credit role supporting the assessment, structuring, and ongoing monitoring of lending facilities, with exposure to agricultural and asset-backed credit transactions. The role will suit someone who enjoys detailed financial analysis, stakeholder engagement, and working through end-to-end credit processes in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

You will work closely with internal investment, legal, and relationship teams, as well as external brokers and advisors, to support the origination, assessment, and ongoing management of credit facilities. The role covers both new deal execution and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support credit underwriting for new and existing clients, including financial analysis and preparation of credit papers
  • Conduct credit checks, PPSR searches, property and security reviews, and KYC due diligence
  • Assist with structuring and presenting credit submissions to investment or credit committees
  • Manage facility renewals, re-underwriting, and ongoing credit reviews
  • Monitor portfolio exposures, covenants, and credit quality
  • Identify and escalate emerging credit risks
  • Liaise with legal teams to support facility documentation and post-approval execution
  • Onboard new facilities into loan management systems, ensuring accurate setup of securities and pricing
  • Maintain accurate credit files and portfolio records
  • Support reporting requirements and ad hoc project work across the team

Key Criteria

  • 1-3 years' experience in credit analysis, lending operations, banking, or structured finance
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline
  • Strong financial analysis and numeracy skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work through complex information
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare credit papers
  • Confident in engaging with internal stakeholders, brokers, and clients
  • Exposure to agricultural lending or asset-backed finance is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
