Corporate Development (M&A), Senior Analyst | Mining

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Analyst to join a high-performing Corporate Development team based in the Perth CBD. This team is responsible for evaluating and delivering acquisitions, alliances, divestments, and other growth opportunities, as well as supporting the review of major internal projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining detailed financial models for significant investments and projects, including both greenfield and brownfield developments.
  • Supporting the evaluation of upstream and downstream business opportunities in the mining sector.
  • Assisting with the development and upkeep of project databases and opportunity screening criteria.
  • Conducting ad-hoc commercial analysis, including refinery feedstock evaluations.
  • Preparing clear reports and presentations to communicate trends, risks, and insights for decision-making.
  • Providing commercial input and support to other M&A and investment evaluation activities.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in corporate advisory, corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Advanced financial modelling skills with proven valuation experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to go beyond the numbers to identify key insights.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business, or Accounting
  • CA or CFA designation (or working towards) will be highly advantageous.
