MARS is partnering with a leading Australian construction organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role provides financial support, contributing to the effective maintenance and continuous improvement of the accounting function.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Support the Group's month-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Oversee the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the AR process.
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
Assist the Financial Control team with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage the upload of bank payment files.
Maintain and update the treasury file daily, including cash position, short-term cash forecasting, and contract forecasting.
Assist in the preparation and submission of bond and bank guarantee applications.
Ensure accuracy of intercompany balances across internal entities.
Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of financial accounting processes across the organisation.
Skills and Experience:
1-2 years of experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
Prior experience in the construction industry will be highly regarded.
Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Flexible working arrangements available - one day working from home per week after probation.
