Accounts Payable Officer | Contract to Permanent Opportunity

MARS Recruitment is partnering with a ASX-listed organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Officer for an initial 3-month contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent position.

The Opportunity

Working within a busy finance function, you will take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made in line with company policies and deadlines.

This role is ideal for an experienced Accounts Payable professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and building strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end accounts payable processing
• Matching, batching, and coding supplier invoices
• Processing weekly and monthly payment runs
• Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Managing vendor enquiries and maintaining positive supplier relationships
• Assisting with month-end reporting and finance team requirements
• Maintaining accurate supplier records and ensuring compliance with internal controls and procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Previous experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable position
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Essential experience using Pronto
• Experience working within a medium to large corporate environment
