Position Title: Accounts Payable Officer

Reporting To: Accounts Payable Team Lead
The Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payment runs, and account reconciliations. This role supports the wider finance function by ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies while maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Accounts Payable Operations
Process high-volume supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery receipts
Ensure correct coding of invoices in line with company cost centres and GL accounts
Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs
Manage supplier master data and maintain accurate records
Reconciliations & Reporting
Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
Support audit requests by providing required documentation and reports
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
Respond to supplier and internal queries professionally and efficiently
Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal teams
Liaise with procurement and operational teams to resolve invoice issues
Compliance & Process Improvement
Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within accounts payable
Assist with system enhancements and process documentation as required
Essential
Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably in a medium to large organisation
Experience processing high-volume invoices
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Good understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in ERP or accounting systems (e.g. Myob, Xero or similar)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Certificate IV in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related discipline (preferred but not essential)
Highly organised with strong time management skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
