Podiatrist

Seeking applications from either New Graduate or experienced Podiatrist’s for a locum position across Brisbane. This position will run for 4 week initally with the view to extend, or even become permanent for the right person.

Your new role will be to provide podiatric care to residents across a range of nursing home facilities, corporate health hubs and clients homes with regular treatments

Overall goal is to strengthen foot health by working as part of team whilst providing exceptional customer care and best practice!
Responsibilities will include:

  • Assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate abnormalities and diseases related to the foot and lower limb.
  • Diabetic foot health assessments.
  • Partake in the chronic disease management plan.
  • Provide treatment for high-risk patient groups.
  • Give footwear advice, foot care advice and education to patients, family members, staff and carers.
  • Make referrals to other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
  • Produce other aids and appliances for pedal comfort.
  • Biomechanical assessments.
  • Maintain quality documentation and treatment planning procedures.
  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks such as ensuring stock levels are maintained, and that equipment is kept in good working order, daily reports and handovers to all staff.

  • Responsible for providing Speech Pathology services in an efficient, effective and timely manner.
  • Assessing communication and mealtime management needs of clients utilising a range of assessment tools and techniques
  • Identifying and implementing intervention approaches and strategies that are holistic, client-centred and outcomes driven
  • Collaborating with families when designing intervention plans to achieve client goals
  • Provide effective client assessment and intervention.
  • Communicate assessed needs clearly and precisely to clients and staff within appropriate time frames.
  • Coordinate all available Speech Therapy options and solutions for clients. ie. Ensure all services and recommendations meet all legal requirements, including Australian Standards (where applicable).

  • Occupational Therapists- Provide support to individuals with accessing the correct equipment, assistive technology, home modifications and therapy.
  • Speech Therapists – Provide speech and language assessments and intervention for adults and paediatric clients.
  • Physiotherapists – Show demonstrated and advanced knowledge in Physiotherapy and the ability to effectively implement and evaluate plans to support patients.
  • Successfully care for adults and children that are living with primarily physical and/or neurological disabilities.
  • Effectively assess the needs of participants and ensure that efficient support is implemented and managed.
  • Provide continued support to individuals with various tasks, I.E attention, concentration, following instructions, self-regulation and sensory processing.
  • Display sound knowledge of NDIS regulations and awareness of our processes around these.
  • Have a collaborative work approach with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to optimise health status and well-being of each client/patient and carer.
