Credit Officer

Join a friendly national team as a Credit Officer! Great opportunity to grow your finance career in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

We're partnering with a well-established national business to recruit a Credit Officer to join its national finance team.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team where cultural fit, attitude and a willingness to learn are just as important as technical experience.

About the role

Reporting to the Credit Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day credit function, managing customer accounts and working closely with internal sales teams and external customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing customer accounts and maintaining accurate account information.
  • Performing bank and account reconciliations.
  • Allocating and receipting customer payments.
  • Monitoring outstanding balances and following up on overdue accounts.
  • Sending customer statements and payment reminders.
  • Assisting with debt collection and placing accounts on hold where required.
  • Responding to internal and external customer queries.
  • Supporting job approval and account checks.
  • Managing a shared inbox and ensuring customer enquiries are actioned in a timely manner.

About you

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude who enjoys being part of a team and building relationships with a range of stakeholders.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in an accounts, credit, finance administration or customer service role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Confidence managing a high volume of emails and customer enquiries.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Previous credit experience would be advantageous, but it's not essential. The business is happy to provide training on its internal systems, processes and industry-specific requirements. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys interacting with others and wants to contribute to a positive team environment.

What's on offer?

  • Salary of $70,000-$75,000 + Super.
  • Friendly, inclusive and supportive team environment.
  • Paid birthday leave.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities.
  • The opportunity to build your career within an established national business.
