Build a finance function from the ground up, and grow into the Financial Controller seat.
About the Company:
You'll be their first dedicated finance hire, with a clear runway to build the function (and eventually the team) the way you think it should be done. There's no legacy mess to inherit and nobody's "that's how we've always done it" to work around.
You'll also be in the room for the big growth projects like helping shape a new ERP, setting up an overseas entity and building the finance side of a brand-new wholesale channel.
You'll report to an executive who has been CFO at two well-known consumer brands. The plan is for this role to become the Financial Controller as the company scales.
What you'll do
Own month-end and quarter-end close
Run AP and payment runs, domestic and international, with external accountants handling invoicing
Coordinate tax and statutory compliance across AU, NZ, the US and Canada, with external advisers on hand for specialist support
Support budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow
Look after cash, bank reconciliations and the balance sheet
Process payroll end to end, including super and compliance
Take on AR as the new wholesale channel grows
Fix things at the root, using automation, AI and better systems to cut manual work
Partner with the Founders and SLT for hands-on commercial analysis

What you'll need
CA or CPA qualified
A background eCommerce or retail experience
End-to-end finance experience, from month end to commercial analysis, and ideally you'll also have some exposure to payroll too
Hands-on experience managing tax and statutory compliance, ideally in a global environment
You solve problems and you're happy getting into the detail in a small, fast-moving team
