Finance Manager

Lead the finance function of a growing WA construction business – report directly to the MD and shape the commercial direction of the group.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for the strategic and operational financial management of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role that goes well beyond compliance and reporting - you will be a trusted commercial partner to the MD, actively shaping business strategy, driving performance and ensuring the financial health of the organisation.

This role suits someone who is equally comfortable setting strategic direction, leading a team of 5 and rolling their sleeves up when needed.

Responsibilities:

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Partner with the MD and Executive Team to develop and execute the company's strategic and commercial objectives
  • Provide financial and commercial insights that support growth, profitability and long-term sustainability
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes across the business

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimisation and funding strategies
  • Ensure full compliance with all statutory, regulatory and tax obligations

Risk & Compliance

  • Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks across the business
  • Maintain robust internal controls, financial policies and governance frameworks
  • Liaise with external auditors, legal counsel, tax advisors and regulatory bodies as required

Business Performance Management

  • Analyse financial performance and deliver strategic recommendations to the MD and leadership team
  • Drive operational efficiency, margin improvement and cost control initiatives
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships and capital investment decisions

Experience:

  • CA or CPA qualified | MUST HAVE
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within a small/medium-sized or growth-stage business
  • Proven track record in strategic financial management, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis
  • Background in construction, property development or project-based industries highly regarded
  • A confident, credible communicator who can engage at all levels - from the finance team to operations
Salary
AU$180000 - AU$220000 per annum + Parking, Flexibility, Growth
