An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join a reputable business within the mining services industry.

This is a newly structured leadership position, offering the opportunity to lead a small team and take ownership of a complex, high-volume payroll function.

About the Role

You will lead a team of 2-3 payroll professionals, overseeing payroll operations across multiple entities and pay cycles.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, supporting and developing a small payroll team.
• Managing weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles.
• Overseeing multiple entities and pay runs.
• Working across a leading payroll/ERP platform.
• Managing payroll processes that vary in complexity, including some more manual environments.
• Maintaining strong payroll governance, compliance and controls.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Partnering with internal stakeholders across the business.

About You

We are looking for a strong and experienced payroll professional who is ready to step into a leadership role and make an immediate impact.

You will ideally have:

• Significant end-to-end payroll experience within a complex environment.
• Strong experience with large payroll systems such as Chris21, Dayforce, PayGlobal or similar.
• Previous team leadership experience.
• The ability to work confidently across both automated and more manual payroll processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of payroll accuracy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to lead through change and a newly structured team environment.
