MARS Recruitment is partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to recruit a Financial Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded international business operating within a regulated financial services environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll lead the financial control function, taking ownership of statutory and regulatory reporting while driving financial governance, controls and process improvement across the finance team.

This is a broad leadership role with responsibility for financial reporting, technical accounting, finance operations and leading a team across both onshore and offshore locations.

The Role:

Reporting to the CFO, your responsibilities will include:

• Lead statutory reporting across Australian and New Zealand entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
• Own regulatory reporting, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant submissions.
• Act as the technical accounting lead, providing advice on complex accounting matters and new accounting standards.
• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring high-quality financial reporting and strong financial controls.
• Lead internal and external audit processes, working closely with auditors and key stakeholders.
• Partner with the Tax Manager on tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Lead and develop finance operations across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including both onshore and offshore teams.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and controls.
• Partner closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders, providing commercial insights and supporting key business initiatives.

The Requirements:

You will be a technically strong Financial Controller with experience operating within a regulated financial services environment.

We're particularly interested in candidates with:

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Significant experience in financial control, statutory reporting and regulatory reporting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
• Experience leading month-end, audit and financial control activities.
• Previous leadership experience managing finance teams.
• A continuous improvement mindset with experience driving finance transformation and process improvement.
• Lending or asset finance experience will be highly regarded, however candidates from other regulated financial services organisations will also be considered.
