Our client is a leading multinational organisation with a strong global presence and an established reputation for innovation, operational excellence, and customer service. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Credit Manager to lead their credit function and drive best practice across accounts receivable, collections, and credit risk management.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Credit Manager will be responsible for leading the credit and collections team, developing credit policies, minimising bad debt exposure, and optimising cash flow while maintaining strong customer relationships. This is a leadership role requiring a commercially minded professional who can balance risk management with customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop the Credit team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage the end-to-end credit function across a large customer portfolio.
  • Review and approve customer credit applications and credit limits.
  • Assess customer creditworthiness using financial analysis and external credit reporting.
  • Develop and maintain credit policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Drive collection strategies to reduce debtor days and improve cash flow.
  • Monitor aged debt, overdue accounts and collection performance.
  • Manage escalated customer accounts and negotiate payment arrangements where required.
  • Minimise bad debts through proactive risk management and recovery strategies.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service and Finance to resolve customer account issues.
  • Prepare regular reporting on debtor performance, cash collections, DSO, bad debt and credit risk.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls and relevant legislation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and reporting.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a Credit Manager or Senior Credit leadership role within a large corporate or multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, collections and accounts receivable management.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer relationships and risk.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing competing priorities.
Salary
AU$120000 - AU$125000 per annum + + Super + Bonus
